LA MAISON DES VINS HAUTE COUTURE entrusted LINEA, the packaging design agency from the Spirits Valley, with the creation of the first sparkling wine naturally flavoured with flowers that grow in the Versailles castle vegetable garden. “LES 12 DE VERSAILLES” is a transgressive, surprising and audacious creation that assertively revisits the History of today’s Versailles and the French art of living for the greatest delight of the new generations. “LES 12 DE VERSAILLES” alludes to the first privileged wine merchants during the reign of the Sun King and thus revives a very old tradition.
With values such as respect and impertinence, elegance and unexpected aspects or continuity and lightness the labelling plays with the strength of opposites. The icon, represented by a fleur-de-lys (symbol of the royalty) transformed into a double-headed rooster (emblem of Versailles) is a perfect illustration of that principle. It is the same for the blue metallization – blue being the colour of the royalty – that is a sign of sophistication through its subtle reflections and its velvet feeling.
